Resumen

In response to the inherent challenges of conducting research on media platforms, this paper aims to address the difficulties involved in constructing a corpus that constitutes a representative sample when dealing with a particularly dynamic and ever-changing field such as this one.

At the same time, we seek to highlight the complexity of defining the attributes of the research object in a way that allows them to be processed by automated systems and yield meaningful results in the analysis of mediated social phenomena.

To this end, we will explore advances in data science, network ethnography, and cultural and semiotic studies, in order to establish distinctions and a common framework of understanding for this type of research.
