Mediatization: genesis and appropriations of the concept

Abstract

The abstract brings together works that map the concept of mediatization. The article is the result of academic production carried out in the discipline of Communication Theories and Epistemology (POSCOM/UFSM) and reflects on the concept of mediatization based on surveys of authors who seek to systematize the concept. Dialoguing with Gomes (2016), Fausto Neto (2018), Martino (2018), França (2020) and Fernández (2023), we list antecedent contexts, genesis, currents, uses and related terms. In this way, we intend to promote “bricolage, short-circuits and constructions” (França; Simões, 2016, p. 34) among the cited references.
