Abstract

In the last 2 years there has been a considerable increase in the use of the term instagramable. Searching for that exact word on Google, it can come across more than 29,400 search results. Recent news calls attention to a new social phenomenon: people line up to enter artistic exhibitions that allow photos worthy of being posted on Instagram. Art becomes a shareable aesthetic content on digital media. This article seeks to discuss the mediatization of art, with the descriptive analysis of posts made on Instagram using the location ‘Museu Oscar Niemeyer’ (art museum located in Curitiba). Photographs will be taken at art exhibitions provided by the museum, in an attempt to collect works that can be considered instagramable.
