Presidential elections 2022: an analysis of mediatization and circulation of meanings in the last television debate

This article is the result of investigative work carried out for the theoretical and methodological development of the author's master's dissertation (Eckhardt, 2025), which was based on hybrid methodological investigations previously conducted by the Research Group on Media Circulation and Communication Strategies (Cimid/UFSM/CNPq). The aim is to analyze the circulation of meanings surrounding the final televised debate of the 2022 presidential elections, based on journalistic articles that echoed the event. Using the Iramuteq software for graphical experimentation, we identified discursive traces (Verón, 2004) that contribute not only to understanding what was said, but also to outlining possible paths of observation for research in the fields of communication and sociosemiotics.
