Abstract

Mediatization has brought easy and quick access to information on a global scale and the ability for recipients to also be transmitters of messages. However, not all information is beneficial. Therefore, with so much informational content and niches available, what drives an influencer to use their power to spread fake science? And, in today's media-driven world, why does science still remain distant from society? The conclusion is the need to expand the potential of scientific dissemination to increase the visibility of good research and encourage researchers to position themselves as science influencers, in addition to a more careful analysis of the quality of published articles. Perhaps this way, we can find ways to combat fake science.
