Abstract

The meeting point between the meanings of childhood and the media become increasingly clear and generate consequences in a society in the midst of mediatization, bringing the need for greater attention on the part of communication studies. In this way, as countless children and adolescents assert themselves in a public scenario at all times, it is sought, by exemplifying the profile on the digital platforms of the singer Melody, to understand how a child public figure emerges and what consequences this scenario implies in the conception of childhood that is being built today. Therefore, the research makes use of the concepts of mediatization of Braga (2017), Mata and Verón (1997, 2004), of Fernandez's media platform (2018), also of the definition of celebrities of Simões (2014) and the understanding of the construction history of childhood by Áriès (1978).
