Abstract

How does the documentary Martírio (Vincent Carelli et al., 2016) constitutes a way of presentification of the conflict over land between Guarani Kaiowá and farmers in Mato Grosso do Sul in the media, and how the film takes part in a dispute with other discourses in different media such as Facebook, Youtube and television? Martírio is part of the NGO Vídeo nas Aldeias, founded by Vincent Carelli. Vídeo nas Aldeias is one of the first approaches between traditional and audiovisual peoples in Brazil, composing the growing indigenous integration in the media culture and in the media environment. Our interest, not limited to the way in which the film organizes the different discourses about the conflict within, is also in how the film participates in an already mediatic conflict.
